Program Overview

Program Description:
Semester at Monash University

Monash is part of the Group of Eight which consists of the top eight research universities in Australia. The university boasts some of the country’s most noted faculty. Although it is a relatively young university, it was built on traditions of excellence and with a global vision. There is a wide range of course offerings in business and economics, engineering as well as the humanities and sciences. Monash has a very diverse student population and attracts international students from around the globe. There are specialized services and activities for international students, and there is even an exchange club.

There are five halls of residence at Monash, located at the Clayton campus, which together provide accommodation, meals, facilities and services to approximately 1,000 people - students, senior residents and staff. Students may reserve on-campus accommodations in consultation with Monash International.
Setting Description:
There are two main campuses in Clayton and Caulfield, which are located about twenty and forty minutes each by public transportation from the center of Melbourne, the cultural and intellectual heart of Australia. Although the campuses are set within an urban context, there is a truly natural feel to each, with wallabies roaming freely. There are on-campus student residences and off-campus accommodations available for students.
