- The Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing provides studies in poetry, fiction, and nonfiction. In addition to writingworkshops, students take courses in literature and in the theory of writing, including English language and linguistics. A book-length thesis of publishable quality is required; it will be directed by a member of the M.F.A. faculty. The M.F.A. requires 48 graduate semester hours, with a 3.00 grade point average in all graduate courses.
