- The six-year course of study in Dentistry leads to the cand.odont. degree. A competitive examination is held at the end of the first term of study, and the number of students allowed to continue their studies in Dentistry is strictly limited. In addition to the cand.odont. degree, a licence from the Minister of Health is needed to obtain the right to practice dentistry in Iceland.
