Program Overview

Program Description:

Dundee is a truly unique law school. We offer a modern, forward looking approach to learning and a rigorous preparation for the professional world, whether in the legal sphere or elsewhere.

We offer two fully qualifying law degrees for the legal profession either in Scotland or in England and Wales, and Northern Ireland.

For students on the Scots stream of the LLB at Dundee, there is also a unique and intellectually demanding option to achieve dual qualification. On graduating with this degree, students have a choice of jurisdictions where they can study for their postgraduate professional qualification, giving our graduates a significant competitive advantage in the marketplace.

Dundee Mooting Society
A moot is a legal debate and the Dundee Mooting Society is one of the most successful in the UK. The Society runs training and internal competitions for students and teams from Dundee compete in most of the major mooting competitions in the UK and internationally.

Law Clinic
The Law School also runs a Law Clinic which provides students with practical experience in dealing with clients and real life problems as well as reinforcing links with the profession. The Law Clinic also offers modules for credit.

Library Facilities
The University Library has a large collection of material for all jurisdictions in the UK, including EC material, as well as considerable holdings of overseas material. The library is also fully adapted for wireless communications, houses an IT suite and offers a wide range of electronic resources including access to many important legal databases.
