The International Relations undergraduate program educates students in both international relations and international business, since it was designed by professors who have worked in the UN and other international organizations and know that a business background helps students succeed when placed in real situations. Undergraduate students can benefit from UBIS's double degree program and earn a Swiss recognized Bachelors in International Relations as well as an American accredited Bachelor of Science in International Business by following the specially designed UBIS program in coordination with Potomac College in Washington D.C. As a result, graduates are not only knowledgeable in the fields of public, multilateral and international affairs, but they are also able to effectively and efficiently manage an office, prepare budgets, make decisions based on financial indicators, and oversee projects from start to finish. A good International Relations specialist can greatly improve communication and foster positive relationships between businesses and organizations and their prospective audiences. Internships can be an integral part of the program and interns may choose to look for work in the for-profit or non-profit sectors, where they are able to specialize in their field of study and focus on the different sectors where business and international relations come into contact. Interns can choose to look for positions at international and multilateral companies, in ministries of foreign affairs, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), non-profit associations, international foundations or in humanitarian agencies. They can choose to look for work in political or foreign affairs as analysts or become information officers and project managers in a host of international fields ranging from global corporations and professional associations to human rights organizations and lobbying groups.
Setting Description:
A semester abroad with UBIS, on ground at the Geneva Campus in the bustling, international Swiss city of diplomacy and business; home to the UN and many non-governmental organizations as well as world renowned international banks and businesses! UBIS welcomes study abroad students from countries around the world, but it is the student's responsibility to make sure the home university agrees to return transfer of UBIS credits prior to studying with UBIS.
