Program Description:
Conceptual thinking, writing and graphic design all converge in the M.A. in Publications Design program. You'll focus on the integration of words & images while developing creative communication and publication strategies, mastering electronic tools and adapting to emerging technologies. You'll hone habits of analysis and imagination that will help you translate ideas into print and other media. In your dual capstone experience, you will develop a professional portfolio using the projects you have completed in the program, and you will work in a team to solve a major real-world design problem, as assigned by the faculty. An end-of-year competition will showcase your work and other projects in a public presentation. The program is also offered at the Universities at Shady Grove in Rockville, Md.

Requirements:
-A bachelor's degree with a minimum 3.0 GPA from an accredited college or university or a 2.8 GPA and a portfolio indicating high potential; you must also demonstrate potential for success in the program documented by a portfolio and evidenced by either a strong undergraduate background in professional writing, graphic design or digital media or substantial professional experience -Completed online application. -Official transcripts from all prior colleges or universities. -Statement of interest. -Resume. -A portfolio with at least one writing sample. -An interview with the program director.
