- Program Description:
- The Faculty of Law of the University of Augsburg offers foreign graduate law students an outstanding opportunity to learn German law. The Master’s Program aims at providing the students with understanding of German civil, criminal and public law and deepening their knowledge of the selected areas of German, European or international law. During their studies students have also an opportunity to write Master’s Thesis on a chosen legal issue. By selecting the fields of specialization and the topic of the thesis, the Master students can follow their interests and set a personal focus.
During their studies students are required to attend lectures in German civil law, German constitutional law and German criminal law. Tutorials from these courses dedicated exclusively to international students are also offered. Further, students can pursue any course in German, European or international law of their interest that is offered at the Law Faculty. The Master’s Program is taught entirely in German.
To receive a Diploma a student needs to graduate from courses compromising at least 24 semester hours (an equivalent of 48 ECTS), write and defend a Master's Thesis.

During the late medieval times and the Renaissance it was one of Europe´s most important economic and cultural centers. Currently, the modern campus provides a unique opportunity to efficient and effective studies and the location of the program allows multiple excursions.
