Program Description:

Spend a semester or full year and earn college credits! This revolutionary academic gap year program will let you explore Israel, make friends from Israel and all over the world while having a once in a lifetime experience! We offer three alternative starting dates, dozens of cases and two different tracks with so many exciting opportunities. The Gap Year/ Semester program is designed to give students a taste of college in Israel. This means living n a dorm style apartment, taking classes on a real college campus. When students aren't studying they participate in weekly Tikkun Olam (community service)projects where they get to make a difference in the lives of others. Every Student will be covered with full health insurance for the length of their stay. Students also participate in three hours of Hebrew classes a week in order to truly give them a taste of the country. Students will also have the chance to join bi-monthly tours of Israel where you get to see beautiful sites like Jerusalem and the Western Wall, hiking the Golan Mountains, floating in the Dead Sea and getting to ride camels in the desert!

One track is with The College of Management Academic Studies, which s the largest college in Israel with the biggest schools of Business Administration and Computer Sciences. Courses offered for the gap year are in the field of: Business Administration, Behavioral Sciences or Computer sciences. All students are required to take a minimum of 10 credits per semester. Another option is Month-long study blocks instead of a 14 week semester. Out of the year there are 9 study blocks offered where the classes are 3 weeks long. You can choice which blocks you want to join! Our Gap Year Extension program can also be extended from 1 to 3 years! In this program students can complete necessary requirements to obtain a Bachelor's degree in Business (B.A), Computer Sciences (B.S) or Behavioral Sciences (B.A). Our 2nd option- LANGUAGE, learn it and live it! If you are not sure what you want to study or you want to take some time before taking on an academic course load, we offer a language program as part of our Gap Year Experience program. It's 12 hours a week that will be dedicated to either learning Hebrew or English. Students from non-speaking English countries can raise a level of their spoken and written English up to Academic level. Israel has a huge English speaking community to be a part of.

Setting Description:

The College of Management Academic Studies is located in the center of Rishon LeZion, the 4th largest city in Israel and one of the most bustling and vibrant metropolitan areas for students. Rishon Lezion, a coastal city just 5 miles south of Tel Aviv, has a well-developed infrastructure of transportation and entertainment. Right next door to the College of Managment is a new state-of-the-art Sports Center, with indoor and outdoor swimming pools, exercise classes, sports courts and more. Lirom Academic Gap Year/ Semester students are offered sizable discount in membership fees.
