Students taking the Spanish course during the semester in Lima will have the opportunity to interact with local students and participate in all the extra activities organized during the semester. Our International Relations Office offers orientation and assists students in finding housing and adjusting to life in Lima. Common housing options include a student-housing block off campus, an apartment outside the university, or a home-stay with a local family.
Tinkuypata our International Center, located in Cusco allow students to take intensives Spanish courses in its three levels (Basic, Intermediate and Advanced), and enjoy the stay in the capital of the Incas with extra activities such as dancing, music or Peruvian cuisine. The program strives a real cultural immersion as the students will have the option of living with local families, having a truly intercultural experience!.
Students have the opportunity to take the Intensive course of Spanish in Lima or Cusco before the semester or in dates scheduled each year. Spanish courses as a foreign language are addressed at students with little/none, intermediate or advanced command of the language. Each course is worth 3 local credits or 45 hours of class. Official transcripts are issued after the program is completed. Besides, students can study Spanish as foreign language during the regular semester. A semester comprises two modules in each level, as the courses are divided in basic, intermediate or advance level. Basic level consists in 60 hours of class each module which equals 4 local credits. Students taking the full semester will get 120 hours of Spanish lessons. Intermediate and Advanced level consists in 40 hours of class each module, or 80 hours for a full semester. Each module is equivalent to 3 local credits.
Program cost includes tuition, official transcripts from the university, all services or information required for the trip, and permanent assessing during the student stay.
