Program Description:
In just under a year you could graduate as a Patient Care Technician and assist doctors and nurses with important clinical, laboratory and office tasks, as well as assisting with patient care. You learn to operate an EKG machine, assist patients with daily activities, collect and analyze blood samples and manage patient records. After completing classroom training and a hands-on externship at a local healthcare provider, you receive a diploma and are ready to pursue an entry-level job at a doctor’s office, hospital or nursing home. You may also be ready to sit for Florida’s Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) exam and gain a credential that can make you more marketable to employers. Diploma and associate degree are offered at our Tampa and Clearwater, Florida campuses.
