As a UMA student in this online program, you’ll learn how the insurance billing process works, how to assign medical codes, perform basic medical office duties and more. Some classes you would take include “Medical Basics and the Healthcare Claim Cycle” and “Computer Systems and Software Applications for the Medical Office.” UMA provides an engaging online learning experience with personal feedback from instructors, educational videos and live study group sessions. After you graduate, you’ll be prepared to take the Certified Billing and Coding Specialist exam. Typically, students complete this diploma program in 10 months.*
