Program Overview
- Program Description:
- Our field site is on the tropical island of Mo’orea, a short boat trip (by high speed ferry) from Pape’ete, Tahiti’s major city. We will be based at the University of Berkeley’s South Pacific Gump marine station located at the entrance to Cook’s Bay and the setting for Hollywood’s famous Mutiny on the Bounty.

Program cost includes all accommodations, field excursions, cultural events, insurance, in-country ground transportation, and virtually all meals. Tuition (HOPE applies and out-of-state or non-UGA students pay in-state tuition) and airfare are additional.
- Setting Description:
- During our time in Tahiti there will be opportunities to hike to spectacular waterfalls, visit ancient villages, swim with stingrays, and snorkel some of the world’s most beautiful reefs. We also work closely with a local cultural center and participate in traditional Tahiti celebrations and feasts.
