- Program Description:
- Tulane’s summer program is locally sponsored and supported by the University of Havana and its affiliate the Centro de Estudios Hemisféricos de los Estados Unidos (CEHSEU). Students will enroll in two courses to earn 6 hours of Tulane academic credit. While LAST 3130 is required for all participants, students may choose between the other two options according to their academic needs, language ability and personal interests.

Offered through the Cuban and Caribbean Studies Institute of the Stone Center for Latin American Studies, our 4-week program offers the unique opportunity to earn 6 hours of academic credit while exploring the sights and sounds of a nation and people that remain obscured behind political rhetoric and misinformation.
- Setting Description:
- Recent economic changes on the island have provoked a series of social and cultural transformations that have left Cubans and the entire world wondering what could be next for the island and the Revolution. Do not miss the chance to witness some of these challenges and triumphs firsthand. While centered in Havana, weekend field trips to historic sites and cities such as Playa Larga, Matanzas, Trinidad and Cienfuegos will enrich the experience and provide a more vivid picture of the island and its diverse population.
- Cost:
- Cost of the program is $5200.00. The price includes corresponding credits at Tulane, shared room and 2 meals a day at the ANAP, medical insurance, specialized tours and outings. Airfare, visa and incidental costs are not included in the program cost.
