Program Description:

Curriculum Our curriculum is integrated horizontally and vertically, which means you’ll always be using what you’ve learned. Our problem-based learning approach emphasizes critical thinking and clinical application. We also use a comprehensive student and peer course evaluation process to continually improve our curriculum and teaching methods. Clinical Training Patient contact begins the first semester, and continues throughout all four years. We offer clinical education through an extensive and diverse network of health care sites. Research A medical education at Tufts would not be complete without its vital–and growing–research community. Faculty from the Sackler School of Graduate Biomedical Sciences, as well as clinical faculty, have earned international attention and respect in their fields and are known for fostering an atmosphere of collegiality and collaboration across specialties and institutions. In addition to our standard curriculum, TUSM offers the following opportunities: Maine Track In partnership with Maine Medical Center in Portland, this program offers a unique, innovative curriculum and clinical training experiences in Maine, and exposes students to the unique aspects of rural practice as well as training in a major tertiary medical center. Combined MD Degrees An MD is only the beginning, a gateway to a broad range of career options in healthcare. Our combined programs include an MD and a second degree. Programs in Global Health Short-term opportunities are available in a number of countries around the world during the summer between years one and two. Fourth-year students have the chance to complete a clinical elective abroad.and institutions.
