Program Description:

Our academic programme aims to receive the foreign students into our secondary schools, thus allowing for total integration and coexistence with Spanish students. This programme has been designed for students who wish to spend from one month to one year in Spain in a total immersion. Our international students will live with a Spanish family and attend to a local High School with Spanish students, what will make them acquire not only a great fluency of the language but also an unforgettable intercultural experience.

Our pedagogical approach is taken from the most recent trend in research into foreign language acquisition: CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) and is based on the natural use and acquisition of language in real life situations where students can learn new things with the new language input as a vehicle for learning. Students acquire fluency in Spanish by using the language to communicate with a real purpose. Our programmes are based on experiences, which we call “Experiencias TSE” and which are the key to language acquisition; attractive contents that will enrich the foreign student while Spanish is used for what it really is, as a tool for communication. These contents have been developed for their intrinsic values, representing as they do, the essence of our city: - Art & Culture - Nature & Biodiversity - Audio-visual & Mass Media - Business - Sport & Multi-adventure Activities 32 hours per week of experience, coexistence with native speakers, training, and learning spanish!

True Spanish Experience is the perfect way to offer students learning the foreign language the advantage of also learning content with total cultural immersion. As well as offering an unforgettable personal experience it can become an important part of your school or university’s academic content, or your business’s programme. Learning related to art, culture or the environment and doing exciting adventure sports, workshops and activities while practising Spanish is the best way for students to experience real language and culture. University training plays an essential role in our project. In conjunction with the National University of Distance Learning (UNED) our University programme provides a range of options adapted to the individual interests and needs of students of Spanish as a foreign language. Students will be able to: - Improve and perfect communicative competence in a total immersion context in short time. - Enjoy the warmth of Spaniards in a city which guarantees comfort and safety. - Know the Spanish life-styles and customs while acquiring knowledge in your professional field. - Discover the land of Castilian, its cultural and artistic richness and its spectacular landscapes.

Setting Description:

Students will attend the programme in a Spanish secondary school from four weeks. This means that you will participate in more than six hour of class (from 8.30-14.00) per day, attending differents lesons of the Spanish school curriculum according to your age and school level. The afternoons will provide the ideal complement to this total Spanish language and culture immersion, as you will live together with a Spanish host family who, as ambassadors for this city, will take you in as a member of the family during your stay. Classes will be in a small and personalized group to maximize time, resources and students participation.
