You want to solve critical global issues. Knowing how to create social impact is an important first step. But, you also need the skills to build and lead an organization that achieves its mission with integrity. Thinking Beyond Borders’ 8 week Social Impact Summer in the Volta Region of Ghana is a unique internship abroad program that prepares you for a highly effective social justice career.

The Social Impact Summer in the Volta Region of Ghana includes: 8 week professional internship with an organization in your field Curriculum on building mission-centered organizations Community of like-minded peers Professional skill building and work experience Independent travel opportunities Our programs provide a powerful mix of experiential and classroom learning focused entirely on creating meaningful change. You’ll build critical professional skills, contribute to local social impact efforts, and become part of a community of passionate and committed people.

You’ll choose among a wide variety of fields to ensure you are placed in a fulfilling internship. You’ll work alongside experts to build capacity in their organization. You’ll also learn about the challenges of aligning the priorities of the community, organization, and funders to ensure impact is appropriate and productive. Each week includes three seminars to explore key questions related to building mission-driven organizations. TBB seminars are inquiry-based, where questions are our focus. You’ll gain a unique understanding of how to create an institution that pursues its mission with integrity.
