Program Overview

Program Description:
The Oceania Project is undertaking a long-term study of the behaviour and ecology of humpback whales in Hervey Bay, Queensland Australia and is affiliated with the Southern Cross University Whale Research Centre, Southern Cross University and the South Pacific Whale Research Consortium.

Interns work with Maine Mammal Science Research Team.

Setting Description:
The fieldwork is vessel based and the study area is within the Whale Management and Monitoring Zone of the Hervey Bay Marine Park, Queensland Australia.
Cost:
Live aboard Whale Research Expedition Vessel 5 nights / 6 days, all meals $1950 Australian. Expedition vessel is a 13.5 Power catamaran. Registration form online at website.
