Program Overview

Program Description:

Experience Argentina through a month of outdoor activities, community service, and Spanish language classes. You’ll begin your Experiment in Argentina’s capital, Buenos Aires, where you will explore the city’s sites, architecture, and boulevards, and begin practicing your Spanish. Then, you will travel by boat to the city’s surrounding islands in the Tigre Delta and visit artisan markets.

From Buenos Aires, your journey continues in Colonial Jujuy, where you will spend two weeks sharing daily life with an Argentine host family. During this period, you will work on a community service project, such as volunteering at a center for children with developmental disabilities or helping renovate an orphanage or school. You will also go white water rafting, and hike to a traditional ranch, where you will learn how to rope cattle. Marvel at the mesmerizing landscape of the Salinas Grandes, Argentina’s massive salt flats.

The program’s outdoor exploration continues on horseback. You will camp out on Chicoana Mountain and enjoy

traditional asado, a barbecue prepared by traditional Argentine cowboys known as gauchos. In Cafayate, take a bike tour of the city and hike the beautiful surrounding areas, before returning to Buenos Aires for a final day of exploration and reflection.

At the conclusion of this program, students will earn a community service certificate noting the number of community service hours completed.
