Program Description:

Immerse yourself in Thai culture with this program hosted at Chiang Mai University focusing on Thailand- and Southeast Asia-related studies including Buddhism, international relations, political science, history and art. Known as Thailand’s cultural capital, Chiang Mai is a major hub for students who appreciate its awesome beauty and affordable cost of living. With Thai language courses, a homestay in a rural Thai village and the support of a Thai student buddy, students fully integrate into the local university life and receive a deeply engaging experience unlike any other.

Setting Description:
Chiang Mai University, established in 1964, was northern Thailand's first institution of higher education and first provincial university. With a student enrollment of 36,000 students, the public research university boasts a vibrant campus and student district adjacent to shopping, restaurants and nightlife. Students will have the opportunity to live on campus with a Thai roommate, and enjoy the university's sporting facilities and numerous cultural clubs.

    The program was great. The staff and faculty were interesting and super supportive. The program excursions were well-run, fun, and enriching. Chiang Mai is a wonderful city, and very rich in culture. I want to go back very soon!
