Program Description:
For students whose primary goal is Chinese language acquisition, this program consists of full-immersion language instruction and a language pledge, so students make rapid gains in their language skills. Students must complete two semesters of Chinese prior to arrival.

Exponentially improve your Chinese language skills through a rigorous 15 credit course load dedicated solely to language acquisition. Build your practical language skills through volunteer opportunities, NGO visits, and a Chinese-only language pledge. Take your language skills outside of the city and discover the many realities and language inflections that exist in China through a week-long field study trip. Live with a host family to promote language immersion and gain an in-depth understanding of Chinese family dynamics and traditions.

The program price includes tuition and fees, housing, pre-departure materials, guidance on applying for a visa, orientation, cell phone, weekly activities, field study trip and/or long weekend trip varying by term and program, textbooks, the services of a full-time resident staff, and medical and evacuation insurance.
