Program Overview

Program Description:

The MPIA is a 21-month, masters-level program that prepares students for professional careers in global affairs. Careers may be pursued in a variety of international institutions/organizations and national agencies charged with conducting economic and security interactions worldwide. The 48-credit-hour curriculum consists of a common core of six required courses and a mixture of ten concentrations and electives that allow students to develop a specialization. We offer two tracks, one in International Economics and Development (IED) and the other in National Security Affairs (NS). Concentrations are offered in international economics, international development, transfer pricing, American diplomacy, defense policy, intelligence, international politics, and regional studies (Europe, Middle East, China). A foreign language exam is required to graduate, and in their first summer session, students will take part in either an international-based internship or cultural study. Fall admission only.
