Program Description:
Spend a fully-funded year in Nepal or Africa with young Israelis doing professional international development work with needy communities Passionate about international development? Want to take that passion from theory to practice in team with young Israelis? The Tevel Fellowship program is a year-long, fully funded service program for young professionals in fields related to development such as agriculture, media, education and health. Applications are open for the fall 2014 cohort in Nepal and Burundi- spread the word! Volunteers utilize an integrated model of community development that focuses on media, education, women's empowerment, youth empowerment, agriculture, and public health. There are 3 different opportunities: Exchange for Change: 1 month; Cultural exchange and volunteering in a Nepali village- perfect for backpackers who want to gain a deeper understanding of Nepali society and to do something meaningful while traveling. Tevel Community: 4 months; Study and volunteering in either a rural village or urban slum, this program offers an in-depth volunteer experience to people of all ages and professions. Tevel Fellowship: 1 year; A year-long fellowship for young professionals from relevant fields: agriculture, education, health and media that work in multidisciplinary teams with fellows from the country of activity

Cost:
Exchange for Change: $10-15 a day; includes 3-5 day orientation in Kathmandu with room and board, homestay with room and full board in Nepali village, staff supervision and mentoring Tevel Community: $450 for the entire program; highly subsidized tuition includes in-country professional training and language study, accommodations, meals, staff supervision Tevel Fellowship: $300 for the entire program; a full support package covers all expenses, including professional pre-trip planning in Israe
