This is a four-week program of intensive German language instruction for students who have had at least one semester of university-level German. The program is based at the Herder Institut of the University of Leipzig in Saxony and is best suited for those who are looking for an immersive experience with ample opportunity for independent exploration of German culture.
The four weeks will consist of intensive language study, an overnight orientation period in Berlin and Potsdam, and optional excursions outside of the city arranged by the Herder Institut.

- Located in the heart of Europe in the former East Germany, the city of Leipzig has a population of nearly 600,000. Leipzig’s historic importance is self-evident from its numerous magnificent buildings, now mostly refurbished, which include sights such as the Old Town Hall, the Old Exchange, the old and new exhibition centers, and the Monument to the Battle of Leipzig. Located in a beautiful area of vistas, history and culture, Leipzig is only two hours from Berlin, one hour from Dresden and Weimar, and three hours from Prague.
