Program Description:

The Summer in San Francisco program offers international students the full American university experience in one of the most beautiful and exciting cities in the world! Students take 2 universities courses, offered in a variety of academic disciplines, while living safely and conveniently in campus dormitories. The program includes tuition, housing, meals, health insurance, social activities, guided excursions, and career development opportunities.

International students will take two university courses alongside American students at SF State. Students who do not meet our English proficiency requirements may enroll in our Intensive English module (not for university credit), which focuses primarily on academic English to prepare students for university-level study in the United States. Areas of study include: Art Broadcast and Electronic Communication Arts Classics Communication Studies Decision Sciences English Ethnic Studies Health Education History Hospitality and Tourism Management Humanities International Business International Relations Mathematics Philosophy Political Science Sexuality Studies Women and Gender Studies Students who successfully complete 2 courses can obtain an official SF State transcript.

International students will have the opportunity to gain academic credit while experiencing the summer of a lifetime! The Summer in San Francisco offers the opportunity to gain academic credit, experience the culture of a major American city, make lifelong friends, and expand career skills through our career development opportunities.

Setting Description:

San Francisco is one of the most beautiful and exciting cities in the United States! Students will have the opportunity to explore all that the city has to offer, including visiting the iconic Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman's Wharf, Chinatown, and much more. San Francisco cable cars transport visitors up and down the famous hills of the city and offer spectacular views over the Bay. San Francisco is also a gourmand's paradise, offering a staggering array of American and international cuisines. SF State has a large and beautiful quintessentially-American campus. Living in dormitory apartments on campus, everything is within easy walking distance, including meals, classrooms, libraries, and sports facilities.
