Our flagship language school campus is located just steps from the beach in beautiful Tamarindo, Costa Rica. More than just a Spanish school, our campus offers cultural excursions, dance lessons, cooking and our wildly popular surf camps. Qualified Spanish instructors teach classes for all levels of students from absolute beginners to those looking to solidify their fluency in the language. We offer both private and and small group Spanish instruction, with a maximum class size of just 6 students to guarantee that your educational experience is as personal and effective as possible. At our flagship school in Tamarindo, Costa Rica , we offer Spanish classes for students of all levels and experience. Spanish classes begin every Monday of the year. We offer nine lesson units starting with beginner Spanish and progressing towards fluency. Classes are held 5 days a week, Monday through Friday and class sizes are limited to a maximum of 6 students. Placement test Students with previous Spanish experience will be given a placement test upon arriving at school. Total beginners will be placed in level 1 class on their first Monday. Lesson materials Student materials including textbooks, supplementary materials and handouts are included in the cost of the program. Students are responsible for bringing pens, paper and other supplies to class. Our Costa Rica campus is equipped with hi-speed wi-fi and lockers so feel free to bring your laptop! Methodology Our school uses the Communicative Approach to teaching Spanish. Our small class sizes ensure a personal, customizable experience that can be tailored to each students learning style. Our professors use a combination of the following to ensure our students learn and retain as much Spanish as possible: •Conversational Activities •Verbal Exercises •Writing Assignments •Reading Comprehension •Grammar Exercises •Role Playing and Games •Cultural Lessons College Credit Student Globe works with select US universities to offer college Spanish credit. Comprehensive Spanish Courses in Paradise Whether you are getting ready to take a college placement test, need to learn Spanish for business reasons, or simply want to study abroad in Costa Rica, SG has a program for you. By the end of your time here, you will have significantly improved your Spanish speaking, grammar and writing skills. Our students are united by a common thread: The desire to immerse themselves in the Spanish language and Tico culture in a beautiful setting. Set in the heart of Tamarindo, our Spanish school is just a block from the beach, and a short walk to everything in town. Spanish students can choose to live either with one of our hand selected homestay families or stay in one of our student apartments. Our student apartments are located on campus, adjacent to the Spanish school and are equipped with air-conditioning, wireless hi-speed Internet, cable television and a full kitchen. Ride the Wave: Learn to Surf We have partnered with the Costa Rica Surf Institute to offer surf lessons to all Spanish students who are interested in learning to surf while in Costa Rica. Playa Tamarindo is consistently ranked one of the top beaches to learn to surf in all of Latin America. Tamarindo boasts one of the most consistent waves and beautiful settings in the world. Through our weekend surf trips our more advanced students are also able to take advantage of the great surf at Playa Grande, Playa Avellanas, Witch's Rock and Ollie's Point.
