Courses designed for your academic needs, homestays, language exchanges, cultural resources, workshops, and activities allow you to more fully integrate into life in Barcelona.

The May Intensive Term or Summer Term with Spanish Studies in Barcelona is an excellent opportunity to experience the culture and beauty of Catalonia. This term is ideal for beginner students of Spanish, that do not have the necessary language level to take content courses in Spanish, but want to have a rigorous academic experience abroad in a prestigious local university with international students.
Spanish Studies program fees include tuition, room & board, support of the onsite staff, predeparture support, laundry, local study visits, cultural activities, orientation, health insurance, and a Spanish Studies transcript. Optional trips and activities are also available.

- Barcelona is Spain’s second largest city and is the capital of Catalonia. The city is known for its rich culture, and is home to eight UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The Mediterranean climate, exciting nightlife and world famous sports teams bring several million tourists each year, making it one of the most visited cities in the world. Students in Barcelona study onsite at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF). Founded in 1990, the campus offers courses in social sciences, humanities, communication and information technologies as well as in health and life sciences. Courses can be taken in English, Spanish or Catalan.
