Program Description:

Through an internship, you have the opportunity to gain professional experience, to help a business or organization in your host city, and to enhance your immersion experience. Your work in the field, guidance from the Spanish Studies Abroad Resident Director, and continual analysis of your experience allow you to gain a first-hand understanding of work culture in modern-day Seville.

Gain professional experience through the Spanish Studies Abroad Internship Program in Seville, Spain during the semester or summer term. This program is specifically designed for you to experience Spanish work culture in a field that matches your professional goals and interests. The program structure enriches your integration into Sevillano work culture by providing you with the linguistic and cultural tools necessary for you to meaningfully contribute to your host business or organization. The regular Spanish Studies Abroad Upper Division Semester Program in Seville, Spain also offers you the opportunity to enroll in an internship as part of your semester course load. Our Center in Seville has been a social and cultural gathering place for Americans and sevillanos since 1969. Spanish Studies program fees include tuition, room & board, meals, support of the onsite staff, predeparture support, laundry, overnight and local study visits, cultural activities, orientation, health insurance, computer access, and a Spanish Studies transcript. Optional trips and activities are also available at our Center.

Additional Program Information

Requirements:
Ability to understand normal, rapid Spanish; two semesters of advanced college Spanish or the equivalent. 3.0 GPA in Spanish Language Coursework. Exceptions may be made with strong recommendations from faculty. A written application for an internship or service learning must be approved by your home institution and received no later than the program application deadline.
