Program Description:
SIS is an International Baccalaureate day and boarding school with over 40 nationalities, offering the Primary Years Programme (3-11), the Middle Years Programme (12-16) and the Diploma (16-18), plus outstanding language and learning support. Through our personalised approach to learning our students are encouraged to open their hearts and minds to the joy of learning, to discover their strengths, identify their passions and develop outstanding learning skills. As a result we are achieving excellent results, with an average score of 35 points at Diploma. We nurture a thirst for knowledge. We enable students to develop skills, knowledge and understanding through exciting learning programmes, allowing them to explore their own learning preferences and nurture their individual talents. We create opportunities for students to discover their spiritual, mental, emotional, social and physical aspects. We are an Apple-certified high-tech school which prepares students for effective participation in and success for the 21st century by integrating technology into learning and ensuring that all children have access to laptop and desktop computers.

Sotogrande International School is a passionate learning community which inspires learning by focusing on the individual and creates an environment where children can flourish. Our students achieve because they are happy and our fantastic results shows that our philosophy really works. Our philosophy is to use child-focused, holistic learning to inspire, challenge and empower students to become the best they can be. SIS students are confident successful learners, happy, well-rounded and motivated individuals, able to cope with change and prepared for the world of work. We help them to find and follow their passions to the highest possible level, as we believe students achieve the best when they are happy. We teach them to be Global Citizens and leaders, understanding the importance of giving back to others and the potential to use education as a force for good and have created real life opportunities for students to make a difference in the world through our school NGO, the Kindred Project. We have brought together a team of highly qualified, experienced, dynamic and dedicated teachers and support staff to inspire and educate our students in a broad range of subjects. We follow the International Baccalaureate programme from 3-18 years old, as we believe it offers a outstanding educational structure and global philosophy which matches the school’s, a broad base of subjects and a qualification which is recognised by universities and employers around the world.

We are justifiably proud of our MYP and Diploma exam results each year, with the grade average climbing steadily over the last three years. Each year some 50 students graduate school with an IB Diploma and gain entry to top universities all over the world. Our philosophy is to use child-focused, holistic learning to inspire, challenge and empower students to become the best they can be. We have brought together a team of highly qualified, experienced, dynamic and dedicated teachers and support staff to inspire and educate our students in a broad range of subjects. As a result of our commitment and dedication to providing the best possible learning environment for each individual need, we are achieving fantastic academic results which have shown steady progression year on year. Our 2014 graduates attained an average total of 34 IB points which is the equivalent of As and Bs at A level. A number of this year’s graduates achieved between 40 and 44 points out of a possible 45, which is equivalent to As and A*s at A level. The top UK universities usually make offers to students who achieve between 32 and 40 points, therefore these grades put us on a firm footing with very high achieving schools in the UK.
