I had a great time during my SOL study abroad trip. I was in Granada, Spain for a month. I felt like the program directors were very thorough and really worked hard to maximize our experience. I also thought that what was all included in the trip was
very reasonable to what the cost was.

Sol Education provided the perfect foundation for me to study abroad! I had the best host mom, the best community around me, and the best directors. All these things combined made for the perfect setting to improve my Spanish. It truly got so much better
over the course of a month and I attribute that to the foundation that Sol provided. Hard work and desire was also involved, but Sol made it so easy to have that passion to learn Spanish when you love the environment around you!

Sol is amazing. This was my first time out of the country and they were very helpful and understanding to my needs and questions. The activities and excursions were always a good time, especially with Juan De. Safety and fun were Sol's main priority.
Also, my host family was very nice and welcoming. Overall a great experience!!

It was an amazing trip! I highly reccommend it to anyone thinking about going to Granada. It is an amazing city with plenty to do and see and there is always something beautiful to see around the corner. I had a great experience with my directors here.
They were all very knowledgeable and when I asked them for advice for things I wanted to do they were very helpful. I had to change my schedule while I was here and they were able to make the process easy. I could tell it was really important to them that I was happy with the schedule and that the semester went well for me. I've also enjoyed many conversations with them about how the trip went going and how I was doing. They always give us an overview of the weeks events which makes things very easy to stay organized during the trip and not to forget or miss any events. They have been wonderful directors involved and have made my experience great! My host family was amazing! I was able to really bond with the family, while watching soccer games, getting tapas, going to the campo with them or any other activity that we decided to do. I was able to learn so much about the culture and the people from the long conversations at the dinner table with them. The food was amazing and was very Mediterranean. I was able to try so many new things and get to enjoy the great cooking. They really cared about me and wanted to make our experience here great! I was able to see so much of Spain while I was here and also able to travel some on my own. This was an experience I will never forget!

Studying abroad changed my life in so many unexpected ways academically and personally. Not only have I learned more Spanish here than I ever have or could have soley in a classroom setting. I have learned so much about myself as a person, and about the
person I want to be moving forward. I truly believe everyone should take the leap of faith and force themselves to live outside of their comfort zones for a period of their lives, and what better way to do that in a country so rich in history and nautral history.

- Sol Education Abroad in Granada, Spain05/10/19
Stepping off the plane I was scared I would not learn anything, that I wouldn't absorb the language, that I would lag behind in class because my Spanish was not up to par with everyone else, and that I would not make friends. After my experience, I
realized that those fears were foolish. The classes in Granada were amazing and the professors were very helpful. I learned so much in class, but more importantly I became more confident in my Spanish. Practicing it everyday is the best way to learn and become comfortable with the language. Everyone is forgiving of your mistakes and do their best to help you along through your sentence. I did not lag behind in class either because the placement was pretty spot on with my level of Spanish. At first I felt overwhelmed, but you adjust quickly to the class style there. And as for friends, I made so many. Your "sol mates" are the easiest friends to make because you are all experiencing life in a new country together. With that said, the locals are also very nice. They are used to students and are very friendly. It was an amazing experience and one day, I will return to Granada, but without fear when stepping off the plane.

My time abroad really help put things in perspective. It was truly life-changing and I would go back in a heartbeat. The cultural immersion is completely amazing and the different people you meet over there makes everything ten times better. Studying
abroad made me realize that there is so much more of the world that I need to see and I have already decided that I will go back to Granada and do my Master's there. I could go on and on forever on how great my time was abroad, but it will never do it justice. These are experiences people need to go out and experience themselves. I am so lucky and blessed to have been able to live and study abroad.

This experience was very life changing. I met one of my best friends while abroad, learned Spanish, and got to see beautiful architecture and beaches. This experience made me change my minor from Business to Spanish. It also has inspired me to want to
study abroad again, but for a longer time period next time. I am so thankful for Sol Education Abraod for allowing me to have an unforgettable summer.

I have travelled abroad before and I can honestly say that Sol Education is one of the best programs to study through. They are very much like family and you get to know everyone so well. The directors are also very supportive in finding the appropirate
level for you. Not to mention, the host stay furthers your practice of the spanish language, and you leave feeling like you have a second home. Sol es el programa mejor.

- El semestre con Sol12/12/17
My experience with Sol Study Abroad was one that will stay with me forever. From the very beginning, the directors made me feel welcome, and I felt very comfortable right off the bat. The excursions that they planned and take us on are excellent and so
much fun, 100% worth it. My home stay has been one of the greatest parts of this whole trip. I feel I have made a connection with the family that I am never going to forget, and that has taught me many things. It feels like I have made a home away from home. Granada is such an incredible city, and I love that everyone walks everywhere. It was an adjustment at first, but you get used to it! The food is incredible and all so fresh, and the weather is so warm and beautiful up until the last couple of weeks, when it gets cold. The location is so close to the coast, and you can easily take a bus to any part of Spain. The university has incredible professors, and I have learned so much about the Spanish language and the culture in every one of my classes. I have learned a lot about myself on this trip, and it has helped me in a lot of different ways. I owe a lot of these good changes to feeling so comfortable and welcome in Granada. I couldn't have been happier with the CLM, my home stay, or the Sol Program. I would recommend this for anyone who wants to dive into Spanish culture and learn more about themselves along the way!

Although I am a native speaker, I feel like I've gained a lot from my time in Granada, Spain. For me, this study abroad experience was a small foreshadow of what my future may hold as a teacher with an interest in working abroad. Thanks to one of the
program directors, I had the opportunity to teach in one of the schools here in Granada. I will always be grateful to SOL for the wonderful opportunities I was granted while abroad. The directors were very helpful, positive, and kept in contact with us during our stay. My host mother, Ana, was amazing. She made homemade meals every single day and was very loving/welcoming during our short stay. My classes at the University of Granada-CLM were just the right amount of challenging and interesting. Since I scored high in the preliminary exam, all of my classes which were in Spanish. I took more than just grammar classes. I also took culture, history, and humanities classes at the university of Granada. I genuinely enjoyed all of my courses and all of the professors were amazing! I would definitely recommend studying abroad with SOL in Granada because although Granada is considered a small city, it still has the perks of a big city with many stores, lively people, and delicious food. Everything is within walking distance and it is awesome to get lost (and then found) in the beautiful streets of Granada because then you'll find amazing places you didn't even know about. Overall, I will miss my time in Granada and will look back at it fondly.

Before studying abroad I always thought that it was unrealistic for me because of the cost of the programs; but I was wrong. There are so many opportunities for scholarships, grants, and extra funding to help you study abroad. I also had a lot of people
ask me whether or not my university timeline would be changed from studying abroad; luckily mine was not effected, however, even if it would have been, I would recommend going abroad anyway. The experience that I have gained from being in a different country is not something that I could have learned while sitting in a classroom being taught by someone that´s only read the books. The real life experience is exactly what I needed and there is no way to explain that. While abroad I have met some lifelong friends, and been introduced to a beautiful culture. This trip abroad has not only changed my views on other countries, but of my own. Sol Education Abroad is an amazing program and I wholeheartedly recommend it.

As I was walking around my university´s study abroad fair, I saw one of my friends sitting at the SOL Education Abroad table and she started telling me all about the program on what they include, how much I have to pay, etc. I got very excited and decided
with this program because of everything it included and how long I would be there. I should have prepared myself a little bit better than I did. So, my advice to everyone reading this is to PLAN AHEAD and SAVE MONEY! Once I got to Granada, everyone was so very helpful and kind. I have got to experience the culture a lot through this program. If I did not go through this program, I do not think I would have seen much of Granada. The directors are always there when you need them. Also, if you are big on volunteering, they have places in Granada where students can volunteer, but you need to know a certain level of Spanish. Overall, it is a wonderful program.

I think that the SOL program was wonderful. I am very happy that I did the Study Abroad & Spanish Immersion in Spain program and was here an extra month. It was a great experience and I am very appreciative to all of the people that were involved. the
people from the base in the U.S. all the way to the program directors in spain and my host family. It was very helpful to have preplanned activites and have free time to do what I wanted to in spain, it was a good balance.

The program overall was great. They do meaningful excursions and do a lot to help the students. You can go to the drectors if you have any kind of problem. I had some issues with my host family, but that was definately not the norm. All of the host families
are great, but misunderstandings happen sometimes. I would definately recommend SOL Education for your study abroad experience.

I have loved my experience with Sol! I met amazing friends from around the United States and had the opportunity to create incredible memories with them. The Sol directors are very approachable and helpful regarding classes, traveling, and home stays.
I especially appreciated getting weekly emails about Sol activities and receiving information about fun things to do around Granada. Shout out to Edu! Also, I definitely recommend going on as many of the Sol activities as you can. Every activity I went on I learned something new about Spain while having a great time! If you are coming to Granada with the goal to build a solid foundation in Spanish or become fluent, Sol provides many activities to interact with Spanish students. However, it is ultimately up to you to go out there and try!

Sol Education Abroad was the most incredible study abroad experience I could have ever imagined. The courses I took and the cultural activities included allowed me to build relationships with numerous fellow students. The culmination of these relationships
was during the last weekend of the first month where I took a trip with about twenty students from my program to see the strait of Gibraltar while making stops at coastal beach towns. My favorite part of the program was the experiences I had with my host family. My host mom always made the best meals, and some of my favorite week nights were spent watching the European soccer tournament with my host father and brother. We cheered Spain on in victory and defeat, and on a couple occasions I got the opportunity to play soccer with my host brother and his friends. This trip was originally intended for me to complete the courses I needed for school, but by the end of the summer I had gained so much more than that!
