Sol Abroad had given me the opportunity to learn a different language and explore a different part of the world. This experience has been one of the best of my life time. Everything from my host parents to the view of the mountains from the school. Everyone
I met was welcoming and wanted to help my growth in spanish. This experience has taught me not to be afriad of making mistakes and always try because even if you mess up you'll learn something. A great part of this program is the host family and being welcomed into a family like you're one of their own. In my house, I was able to help my host mother grade her tests from school, learn how to cook typical costa rican food, and improve my spanish. When I first came to Costa Rica I was extremely nervous and didn't know what to expect but the first thing my host mother said to me was "Yo soy tu madre de Costa Rica." And that made me feel so calm and welcomed. Everything about this experience was wonderful. Every weekend we would go on an amazing excursion which involved hot springs, rainforests, waterfalls, and beaches. I would 100% recommend this experience for anyone who wants to improve their spanish and experience another culture close up. I would do it again in a heart beat.read moreBottom Line:Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
