- Program Description:
- This survey of the Japanese legal system is followed by an exploration of Japanese commercial regulation and international trade issues, including intellectual property. Japanese faculty are drawn from Tokyo universities and active international business practitioners. After students complete the course, students will have the option of doing an additional course in Japanese intellectual property law, as well as an externship.

There are three components that constitute the Tokyo buildingssingular core class of Doing Business in Japan. This program begins with an introduction to international business transactions, including international transactions. The primary focus of this section is in International Business Transactions and will be taught by Professor Philip Jimenez from Santa Clara Law. Students gain practical experience by doing legal work under the supervision of a legal professional in the host country, while receiving invaluable integration into the legal culture of the country and make invaluable professional contacts.
