Program Overview

Program Description:
Our course in Doing Business in Hong Kong is designed for students who want to study the Chinese legal systems, business and trade of Hong Kong and mainland China.

Students will have the opportunity to visit the High Court and Stanley Prison.

Hong Kong has remained at the cutting edge of business and commerce as it has transitioned from British to Chinese governance. Hong Kong’s legal, business, social and cultural environment integrates the unique culture of China with a very Western approach. Our program starts in Shanghai at Jiao Tong University, where students study the business law of mainland China for two weeks, and ends with the final week in Hong Kong at Hong Kong University Faculty of Law, where students study the unique business practices of this Special Administrative Region of China. Students may secure an internship in major international law offices, corporate legal offices, in-house legal departments or government agencies.
Setting Description:
University of Hong Kong is the premiere traditionally “English speaking” university in Hong Kong. The hillside campus on Hong Kong Island is ideally located halfway up Victoria Peak to the immediate west and within walking distance of Hong Kong’s central business district. The campus overlooks the city and harbor.
Cost:
$1000 per unit
