Program Description:

The mission of the Summer Immersion Program (SIP) is to develop confident and empowered global leaders through academic enrichment, leadership training and cultural immersion in America. By providing students with stimulating classes and various opportunities to share their knowledge and experiences in real-world situations, SIP promotes important global conversations between young people from all over the world in a fun and nurturing environment.

The Summer Immersion Program (SIP) offers a complete American academic and cultural experience that enriches cultural competence and communication among global-minded students. With exposure to an international student body, American literature and history, and cultural locations such as Washington, D.C., New York, Baltimore and Philadelphia, SIP students gain the necessary leadership and language skills to become confident, global leaders of tomorrow.


-Students live on the University of Maryland campus and 4H Leadership Youth Center, minutes away from Washington, D.C.
-Cultural trips to New York City, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Washington, D.C. where students can explore landmarks, monuments, and more!

Setting Description:

SIP is a program created and run by Sandy Spring Friends School, located in the heart of Montgomery County, Maryland.

Cost:

SIP gives international students a challenging and fun immersion experience in America. SIP students benefit from an intensive engagement with leadership skill development and/or English language skills in the classroom and in real-world situations. SIP students also have the opportunity to build long-lasting friendships with international students and experience major U.S. cities.
