Program Description:

The foundation of physiology and exercise science is the nature of human movement and how it impacts our day-to-day lives. Those who’ve completed an exercise physiology specialization in our Biological Science program have a comprehensive understanding of human anatomy and structure and how it applies to practical settings. With an exercise physiology specialization, you’ll start with gathering knowledge and skills related to both physical and biological sciences as a whole. From there, you’ll build on that base by studying topics like skeletal structure and motor components, how the body works, how to assess performance, how internal biology affects outer functions, including pathophysiology with special reference to microbiology and the immune system, the role nutrition plays in performance assessment, and so on. In all of these courses, we like to focus on practical applications on these concepts to you can better apply what you’re learning to the skills and tasks you’ll need on the job.
