Program Description:

This year St.Petersburg Summer Art School gives all the international students an opportunity to come and visit the capital of the Russian culture and learn the way we do Art here! It is a classic and what it's called an "old school" academic approach to painting and drawing. The mission of our school is to introduce those art academic traditions to the international students and to show that the main purpose of an art work is not to be just decorative, but to be done with a certain understanding of the painting and drawing academic techniques. Here in our school you will learn how to make an art work, discovering all the unexpectedly simple techniques and secrets, which would bring you artwork to a much higher quality level.

During Summer 2016 there would be 2 sessions: July session (11th - 30th of Jul) August session (1st - 20th of Aug) Requirements for admission: level of english/russian language above the average commitment and desire to grow portfolio (optional) Program includes: 4 to 5 hours of drawing/painting lessons per working day locations: historical city center, parks, castles, countryside, studio any type of material accomodation and breakfast excursions and entertaiment aeroport pick up/ drop off

SPB Arts is a three-weeks summer program for international students aged 13-50 in St.Petersburg, Russia. We invite students from all over the world at any age, because it is always a good time to learn Art! Our school program is designed for students who have a strong interest in visual arts, as it focuses on academic approach to painting and drawing techniques. SPB Arts program introduces a student to an old traditional and highly professional type of art. We teach our students an academic program, which before was only taught in Higher Educational Institutions such as Russian Art Academies. Our mission is to make this knowledge available for everyone. SPB Arts also provides an outstanding cultural experience that includes a number of visit to museums and galleries, as well as a city tour.
