- Founded in 1961, Elisava was the first school of design to open in Spain and throughout its history the school has maintained its position as a pioneering institution. Over the years, the school has not only set a gold standard for design education, it has also become a vital forum for the exchange of opinions and ideas among students and professionals alike. Located in the historic center of Barcelona, Elisava is affiliated with the Pompeu Fabra University.

Required courses (6 credits) • The Global and Historic Context of Art and Design • Advanced Principles in Design: Integrating Communication, Humanities and Scientific Techniques Elective courses (choose 2-3 courses for 9-12 credits) • Retail Design/Visual Merchandising • Design for Packaging • Typography and Graphic Design • Furniture and Product Design
SAI oversees and coordinates all aspects of student enrollment, including application processing, course selection and credit, visa advising, housing, student health insurance, transcripts and cell phone service. In addition, SAI provides comprehensive student services, beginning with pre-departure and leading to our on-site orientation.

- Elisava is located in the historical center of Barcelona, just a few blocks from the Mediterranean Sea. La Rambla, the Gothic Quarter, Gaudi’s iconic works of architecture, and many of the city’s most famous sights are within walking distance of Elisava. Barcelona also enjoys excellent public transportation, which makes all areas of the city easily accessible.
