- Many of the key events in Russia’s history took place in St. Petersburg and several of literature’s most important writers made their homes in what Dostoevsky described as “the most premeditated of Russian cities.” The summer program in Russia makes this rich, extraordinary city the principal subject of study. By the end of the session, students will have a vivid and profound grasp of the leading role St. Petersburg has played and continues to play, in Russian culture and history.
