- Auckland, the “City of Sails,” and the capital of New Zealand is surrounded by docks and beaches. It located on the North Island of New Zealand. The center of the city lies right between the Tasman Sea and the Pacific Ocean. It is the largest and most cosmopolitan city in New Zealand and the country’s center for culture and sport.
