- Program Description:
- John Cabot University (JCU), an American liberal arts university, is situated right in the heart of Rome in the charming neighborhood of Trastevere. It’s named after the Italian explorer who was assumed to be the first European after Columbus to “discover” North America. The university, founded in 1972, welcomes approximately 600 study abroad students a year, and offers a four-year education to some 350 Italian and international students.
"• Study on-site at some of Rome’s most famous landmarks. • Find an internship or volunteer opportunities that best suits your needs. A career fair is held each semester to help you find your match. • Participate in cultural exchange activities, among them JCU’s Italy Reads Program—designed to teach high school students about American culture, through the discussion of a classic American novel. • Call the artsy neighborhood of Trastevere your home. The piazza Santa Maria in Trastevere is the center of the neighborhood’s social life. At night the lit façade of the Basilica di Santa Maria illuminates the square with its cafes, shops, restaurants—and crowds of people walking after their evening meals. "
