Program Description:
The University of Queensland, founded in 1909, is the state of Queensland’s largest university. The university prides itself on maintaining a low ratio of staff to students. One of its particular strength is in the Biosciences; the world’s first cervical cancer vaccine was pioneered at UQ.

Setting Description:
Subtropical Brisbane is Australia’s third-largest city and the capital of the state of Brisbane. An increasingly prosperous city, Brisbane also encourages outdoor activities with an extensive network of bike paths. Brisbane has a great reputation for its live music scene, both classical and popular, and GOMA, its contemporary art museum, is the largest in Australia. Other popular attractions include the botanical gardens, planetarium, and the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary.
