- Our community development interns will work alongside Runa Foundation staff to participate in the development of Fair Trade certified farmers cooperatives. Over the last few years, Runa Foundation has been working with local farmers; holding training workshops, managing administration and coordinating with Fair Trade USA. This is a unique opportunity to get firsthand experience working with farmers cooperatives on an international level. Interns will gain valuable experience and knowledge of cooperative legalization and the requirements under Fair Trade USA.

To facilitate the creation of work and business plans with the cooperatives regarding the management of the Social Premium Fund Intern Duties Coordinate administration for the association Attend all meetings and training sessions Help to manage finances for the Social Premium Fund Facilitate training sessions in areas of expertise Assist in the implementation of community development projects

- Runa Foundation is the non-profit branch of Runa based in Ecuador and Peru. We aim to provide tools and resources to indigenous communities and farmers’ associations, working towards their vision of sustainable development in the Ecuadorian and Peruvian Amazon. We focus on three core areas: social empowerment, community development, and environmental management.
- Costs: 8 weeks room and program fees………..$1600 10 weeks room and program fees............$2000 Additional weeks………………………....$200/week Optional Homestay fee...........................$60/week (Homestay includes all meals, lodging and transportation to/from homestay community) *Program fees include living accommodations. Food and travel expenses are not included
