Program Overview

Program Description:

The objective of this program is to introduce students to fundamental aspects of the business environment and culture in Latin America, in addition to gaining an understanding of the challenges faced by individual nations. This program offers a comprehensive overview of the economic and political environments in Latin America as well as an introduction to Latin American civilization, society and culture – with particular emphasis given to Peru.

By the end of the study program, students will better appreciate the economic, social, cultural, political environment of Latin America. Students will observe how Latin America's recent economic and political history has shaped the current business environment for domestic and foreign firms. Emphasis will also be placed on the opportunities and challenges for multinational firms in Latin America and for Multi-Latinas as global competitors. Students will gain first-hand experience on the complexities of business environments and challenges for multinational corporations operating in Latin America by meeting with university economists and business executives in Latin America. In line with RCNJ's mission regarding international education, by the end of this program, students will be able to: • draw comparisons between their own culture and that of the countries they visit; • discuss key historical and cultural features of the countries they visit as part of this course.
 

Setting Description:
Students will reside in local hotels in Lima, Cuzco and the Sacred Valley.
Cost:
Program cost: $4950 (non-NJ Residents = $6085) Included: international r/t airfare from New York; domestic airfare between Lima-Cuzco; tuition for 4 credits; lodging; some meals; comprehensive international health insurance; books; all excursions and entrance fees. Not included: U.S. Airport Transfers, some meals, immunization costs and personal expenses
