Program Description:

Take your education outside the classroom: intern and be immersed in Argentina.

 

The goal of the Puentes experience is to build bridges connecting undergraduate students and recent graduates with professional and cultural opportunities in Buenos Aires, Argentina.  We provide a complete immersion experience with the following components:

 

• Internship: The core component of the Puentes experience is an engaging internship at a high-performing nonprofit or business in Buenos Aires, in which you undertake meaningful project-based work with close supervision.
• Professional Enrichment: Your internship is complemented by one-on-one mentoring sessions with Puentes staff on professional development topics, such as resume building, interviewing skills, and presenting, in order to provide you with valuable insights and tools to advance your career.  You also have access to professional talks and seminars in Buenos Aires.
• Cultural Immersion: You become immersed in the “porteño” culture through a city tour, tango lesson, and day trip to an Argentine ranch, plus invitations to weekly cultural events in Buenos Aires and optional excursions to other regions of Argentina.
• Optional Spanish Courses: We arrange intensive Spanish classes if you desire to jumpstart your integration into your new home country. 
• Housing: We pre-screen housing for you with homestay families, shared apartments, or student residences to ensure maximum comfort, safety, and ideal location in the city
• Puentes Support: Before, during, and after your Puentes experience, we are dedicated to making your adventure in Argentina as enjoyable and impactful as possible.  We help you with all pre-departure details and arrangements and meet you at the airport.  We provide constant, reliable, and cheerful 24-7 support on the ground in Buenos Aires. And we continue to support you through in you professional endeavors with mentorship and letters of recommendation.

 

The Puentes experience is ideal for people who are eager to learn outside the classroom, who enjoy creative problem solving and tackling new experiences with an open mind and an optimistic enthusiasm.  There are no language requirements or deadlines to apply.

Each year Puentes offers one complete scholarship to cover 100% of the Puentes program free and one partial scholarship to cover 50% of the program fee.
