Program Description:

Come and learn Portuguese Language in the heart of the historical Center of Lisbon. Study in a natural and enjoyable way. We have a highly qualified team specializing in teaching Portuguese as a Foreign Language and Portuguese Culture. including Literature, History, Arts, Philosophy, and popular traditions.

Português Et Cetera – Portuguese Lessons, was founded by Fernanda Ferreira in 2005. She was a researcher in Traditional and Popular Portuguese Culture for several years in Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas (Universidade Nova de Lisboa). For many years she taught Portuguese as a Foreign Language and Portuguese Culture at the Faculdade de Letras (Universidade de Lisboa). She wrote poetry and essays which have been published in many anthologies as well as a book (Artefactos). In 2005 she founded Português et Cetera where she leads a team of teachers specializing in teaching Portuguese as a Foreign Language.

We offer School Year Course, intensive courses, Conversation Club, Portuguese Linguistics, Summer Courses. We will also crate personalized classes in small groups (max. 6 students) or private lessons (one to one). We offer Portuguese Classes online via Skype, therefore, wherever the student is living he can enter our virtual classes and learn through live activities linking the student to the class and the teacher. We prepare the students to CAPLE exams which give them the portuguese official diploma recognised internationally: DEPLE, DIPLE. DAPLE, DUPLE. We help with accommodation in Portuguese family which permits a perfect linguistic immersion. we organize Cultural Activities in the historical center; walking tours through Portuguese History, Art and Literature. We organize tours in Lisbon and it's surrounding area: Sintra, Serra da Arrábida, Cascais, Guincho, Cabo da Roca

Flexibility and creativity could be our slogan. A rigorous knowledge of Portuguese Linguistics and Grammar rules give a scientific approach to our methodologies. We try to create lessons with natural communication and a familiar atmosphere that permits the student's learning in a enjoyable way. We don't use standard texts, we focus the students needs and interests. We have our own didactic materials as an archive of texts. For us a lesson is a moment of special communication, a moment of pleasure and enjoyment. And our students understand this well.
