Program Overview

Program Description:
This programme will support your development as a practitioner-scholar in a range of performance disciplines with an experimental ethos. It is designed to enable students to specialise in one or more of the following: site-specific performance; live art practice/performance installation; collaborative and inter-disciplinary theatre and performance practice. Through four taught modules and a practice-led thesis, students will explore the relationships between the body, text, image, space and site in performance events. Emphasis is placed on the relationships between creative process and product in performance. Creative practice is extended and focussed in an environment that is both supportive and challenging. Theatre and Performance teaching staff will facilitate the evolution of effective individual practice and/or a body of work in each student's chosen specialist area. You may work with other students on the programme (or on other programmes), as long as you are able to clearly identify and discuss your own contribution to the performance work. You will be equipped with the skills to articulate, document, analyse and critically reflect upon your practice.
