Program Description:
The Hospitality industry is one of the fastest growing sectors in the world. This dynamic programme has been designed for graduates or industry professionals who want to progress their career and those who are considering starting a new business within this exciting industry. The programme has a strong focus on management at both strategic and operational levels and has been designed to provide students with an understanding of the current practical and theoretical issues within the hospitality industry. The Plymouth Business School seeks to create a stimulating multidisciplinary learning environment that encourages entrepreneurship and business engagement underpinned by excellence in both research and education. Our programme is influenced by good practice in relation to ethics in hospitality businesses, sustainability and international hospitality and the environment. There will be a strong focus on international hospitality management, while at the same time building on the regional strengths in the south west of England. Students will have the option to access and have support in finding relevant work placement opportunities that can be undertaken while studying. Those already in employment will be given the opportunity to apply knowledge and assessment activities in a pragmatic way within the workplace. The programme can be customised to have relevance to specific sectors or types of hospitality management eg maritime hospitality and cruise industry. Requirements:
A second class honours degree from a UK university, or an equivalent award from an overseas institution, or an equivalent professional qualification. Work experience may be considered – please enquire.
