Program Overview

Program Description:
This is a modular programme in which students may focus on one subject area or choose to study a range of modules across a broad spectrum. The MA Education (IMP) meets the needs of education professionals across the South West and beyond by offering tailored part-time study, building on level 7 credits already acquired where appropriate. It develops personal knowledge and professional practice through a rich blend of expert tuition, directed reading, personal study, guided activities and group work. The taught IMP module offer spans the breadth of the curriculum, examining recent research and developments. Modules usually last up to ten weeks of evening / twilight sessions of three hours each. Various awards may be achieved depending on exit from the programme: the Certificate of Advanced Professional Studies (CAPS), the Postgraduate Certificate (PgCert), the Postgraduate Diploma (PgDip) and Master of Arts: Education degree. As well as taught modules, you can pursue independent study modules with tutor support. We also offer tailor-made courses for schools, departments or other organisations which address particular staff development needs. Research training forms an integral part of all teaching on the programme so that you can be confident in the veracity of your research. In addition, the International Masters Programme (Europe) (IMP(E)) operates in four mainland Europe Centres in specific interest areas including social care, performance and alternative approaches in education.
