- Oxford Bright Scholars Summer Business School is for 15 - 17 years to accumulate academic knowledge in business studies and experience studying and living in the fastest growing city in the world: Shanghai.
Students will have daily Mandarin tuition, academic seminars taught by University of Oxford alumnus, Oxford style tutorial to discussion topical issues, and cultural excursions and activities.
This is intended to be an intensive yet interactive programme for students to accumulate academic knowledge and explore China with all that its rich history and culture has to offer.
The Summer Business School is aimed at students with no previous knowledge of business but has a keen interest in international business and / or entrepreneurialship. The seminars will discuss the relationship between macroeconomics and microeconomics, market structures and business operations. It will related key concepts to the Chinese business environment, for example: barriers to entry, market intervention and the global supply chain. The seminar are intended to be interactive. No boring teachers and teaching materials, instead, Oxford Bright Scholars uses recent case studies, group exercises and discussions to ensure student engagement. Oxford style tutorials are for students to experience an Oxford traditions: students will prepare evidence and arguments to discussion topical issues in international business with tutors and other students. This opportunity enhances independence, confidence and the ability to debate and structure arguments.

- Setting Description:
- The Oxford Bright Scholars campus is set in the Shanghai Soho district: the French Concession. It is not only hipster, but it is also central and safe. Students will enjoy group excursions everyday to explore Shanghai with their new international friends. There are also evening activities planned for students to interact with Chinese culture, including Kung Fu lessons and Chinese cooking classes. Students will also go on weekend day excursion to the cultural heritage water town of Qibao, just a few hours outside of Shanghai.
