Program Description:

Students admitted to CELE focus on improving their English language skills. Through classroom and supporting experiences, the student will improve his or her speaking, listening, reading and writing skills for American English with a goal of being prepared to study in an American college or university.

The Center for English Language Education (CELE) at Northwest University (NU) provides students with the highest quality language instruction so they can fulfill their academic goals, participate fully in their local and international communities, and develop as leaders who serve in their areas of influence.

CELE is a part of Northwest University, an evangelical Christian university with approximately 1000 undergraduate students. At Northwest, through small classes, and regularly scheduled all school experiences, students of CELE will become part of a close-knit community, have direct contact with US students and professors, and have opportunity to form life-long friendships, in addition to developing English language and leadership skills.

Setting Description:

Kirkland is a suburb of Seattle, Washington and an excellent public transportation system gives convenient access to all that Seattle offers in terms of educational, cultural, and sightseeing experiences. The Northwest campus is noted for its outstanding views, safety and security, and pleasant surroundings.
