Program Overview

Program Description:
The MBA Program provides students with a broad knowledge base in major areas of business and management. It offers a challenging and practical orientation to the complexities of modern business management and to the tools necessary for business decision-making. Each class typically meets once a week on the evening of weekdays or during the daytime of Saturdays for 15 weeks. All classes are held at the NEIU main campus. The program aims to prepare students for mid- and upper-level positions in both the private and public sectors, such as in the fields of manufacturing, service, financial, institutional, and government. Potential career options may include, but are not limited to: Financial managers, investment bankers, and financial analyst; Marketing manager, market research analyst, brand manager, new product manager, marketing communications manager and sales manager; Director, branch manager, human resource manager, chief operating officers, and computer systems analyst.

The University has regional accreditation through the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Schools and Colleges. In addition, the university also is accredited through several disciplinary bodies.

Requirements:
The Admissions Committee evaluates applications on the basis of (1) transcripts of all prior undergraduate and graduate coursework; (2) performance on GMAT or GRE; (3) a one-page typewritten statement of Career Goals and Objectives; (4) two letters of recommendation; and (5) any other evidence, such as work experience, etc. To be considered for full admission to graduate business programs, you should have a GMAT score of at least 450 (or a minimum GRE score of 146 each on Verbal and Quantitative) and an undergraduate cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher (on a 4.0 scale).
International Requirements:
International students must score 550 or higher (213 computer-based, 79 internet based) on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), supply an evaluation of transcript materials by Educational Credential Evaluators, Inc. or World Education Services, and satisfy visa requirements.
